Accommodation

The registration fee does not cover accommodation. Participants are responsible for their travel and accommodation arrangements. There are plenty of accommodation options to select depending on your budget or preferable location.

We advice you to book your symposium accommodation in advance to secure the best available rates.

How to get to the symposium venue from Chania airport?

Chania has its own airport “Ioannis Daskalogiannis” (coded as CHQ). It is connected with low cost flights and is located 17 min from the venue that is located at the city centre. Alternative ways are by taxi or by car. For further information please visit the website.


How to get to the symposium venue from Heraklion airport?

Heraklio has its own airport “Nikos Kazantzakis” (coded as HER). It is around 2 hours from Chania city and it is also connected with low cost flights. Airport is served by local buses. The stop is in front of the terminal building. Alternative ways are by taxi or by car. For further information please visit the website.

Technical visit

An optional technical and social visit will be organised on the 30th of June to Knossos Palace
(https://www.heraklion.gr/en/ourplace/knossos/knossos.html).
If you wish to participate send your interest to 
The cost for the bus and tour guide is 20€ per person. It does not include the entrance fee to the site.


Tourist trips and excursions

We have asked a local tourist agent to provide, independent to the Symposium program, a list of tours and excursions for participants and accompanying persons. Find more information here https://mycretetours.gr/ or visit the  office Kondilaki 34-36, Old Town, Chania. 
Symposium participants and accompanying persons booking with the code: “MYCRETEECONOMY2050” will have a 5% discount on the site reported prices (except ferry tickets, canyon entrances).
